The 2013 Knudsen Vineyards Chardonnay is refreshing, with subtle hints of citrus and stone fruit and a lingering and satisfying finish. We have intentionally sought to create a uniquely Oregon style Chardonnay with a Chablis-like flavor and taste profile characterized by balanced acidity, a subtle flintiness and minerality with a zesty palate.
The Knudsen Vineyards 2013 Chardonnay possesses an energetic freshness, light citrus aroma and taste and also a hint of stone fruit. It exhibits a beautiful light straw color in the glass, is refreshing and flavorful with a subtle flintiness and presents a lingering and elegant finish.
Produced from vines planted in 1993 to French Dijon clone 76 in Block 9, located at the lower end of our southern most vineyard slope at 650-700 feet elevation.
Alcohol content is 13.5% by volume. Barrel fermented for 6 months, predominantly in older French oak barrels with 35% new oak.
This is our first proprietary Chardonnay in nearly 40 years and represents continued progress in the Knudsen family return to winemaking. We honor the pioneering spirit of our parents, Cal and Julia Lee Knudsen, and celebrate over four decades of viticultural innovation at Knudsen Vineyards.
